With so much going on in the world that really matters, celebrity news takes up so much time, money, and resources that could go to researching and investigating real issues. Instead, reporters scramble to talk about celebrities and help them sell tickets to their movies or song downloads, and so much time is given to them that could be given to something more substinative. How about all of the money that pays for all of this reporting that could go into investigating scandals, corporate and government greed and waste?

Would you support a day where no one could mention celebrity news except only dedicated outlets like TMZ or People Magazine?

I am working on a project for a class and I need news about celebrities. I have scoured through magazines and done various searches online and came back empty handed. We are basically doing a lifestyle comparison and how the lifestyles of the stars effect what the public buys. I need to find a website that tells what brands a certain star likes or what vehicles they prefer, what shopping stores they use so that I can compare the popularity of those brands, vehicles and stores to others. If anyone knows where I can go to find out this information it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! I’m on a time line and have to have this done by the end of the week so once again, thank you ahead of time.
I tried using google and typing in the names. For example: Brands used by Madonna, (that is just an example) and came back with nothing! I don’t get what I’m doing wrong or if there is any website that anyone knows in particular?

People believe that we should base our attention more on the war and not celebrity news. I just would like to know why it is we are at war in the first place. It seems to me that many people in America don’t even know why we’re at war. I thought it was to catch Suddam but we already captured him so now what. I’m just not understanding. Should this even be called a war because it seems that we are fighting no other army. I have never even saw the Iraqi uniform. Could someone enlighten me on this issue?
This respond to the answers on the page. Well, I haven’t seen any proof of any Iraqi Uniform. Also, if thats the case innocent people are getting killed as well. How would you like if they cam over here shotting and dropping bombs in our neighborhood at civilians with normal clothes on. Its just not fair to the innocent. Its not a War far as I am concerned. What are we trying to gain. if we were doing something so great why is the civilans in Iraq telling America to go home. If we were doing such great wonders. I don’t agree.

Maybe it’s because I live in So. Calif, but it seems that celebs get lots of front page coverage and air time. I’m tired of hearing about their arrests, escapades, rehab, and generally obnoxious life-style. Anybody else?

I have seen people getting so angry when the media interrupt their soap operas or talk shows for an amber alert to alert about a child being kidnapped or missing. But as soon as they interrupt their show for something as dumb as say for example Michael vick pleading guilty for the scandal with the dogs or when Paris hilton had to go to jail all of a sudden people don’t mind having their shows interrupted. Sad priorities isn’t it?

Obama has been on the cover of Us Weekly 3 times, Good Housekeeping, and Ladies Home Journal once each that I know of because my wife takes those magazines. He has also been on the cover of Men’s health. He is also featured prominently on entertainment news shows. I expect him to be on Time and Newsweek, but not Good Housekeeping and Men’s Health. In my lifetime I can’t recall all this hoopla around one man (never saw Bush or Clinton on any of the ladies’ magazines). He is so overexposed that it is becoming sickening. Is he a celebrity or someone about to undertake an extremely serious job? I don’t think he can be both.
For the people who think it is not strange or because he is not white have missed the point of the question. George W. Bush has never been on the cover of the magazines I mentioned. Laura Bush was featured once on the cover of Good Housekeeping. What in the world does this magazine have with this man who is not elected to keep house, but lead the country. This man was on the front cover of magazines that have absolutely nothing to do with politics, and I just wanted to know why he is getting unprecented attention when he should not be a celebrity. If he is a celebrity then he should move to Hollywood and let Joe Biden be president.
