I think that people need to know what’s going on with celebrities so that they can see if they’re human or not. The fact that they’re rich turns the worlds eye on them. Then if they mess up everyone is shocked. They are supposed to be role-models in many peoples eyes. And people like to hear what’s going on in celebrity land. I imagine that that’s because they need to imagine what it would be like to be them. Overall it’s just a plan to get your money.
One of my pet peeves. I **** it when I’m watching the news and I’m told that Britney didn’t wear any panties when she went out on the town. I am dumb-found why anyone cares unless they are 14 years old.
I think celebrity news is a distraction for the media from the mundane and average news that’s on all the time. To some extent, I think they want to entertain the idea that even celebrities have stupid and crazy things going on in their lives.Sometimes when you watch celebrity news, it makes you feel relieved that at least you’re not going through the stuff they are.
But it’s more of a “filler” for life than anything. It does nothing for us, it doesn’t set a good example for regular people and it makes us wonder why we’re paying to see their movies when they’re lives aren’t worth much more than ours - they just have talent and we don’t.
In the end, we shuld choose not to watch celebrity news because it’s just for us to poke fun, talk about at work when we’re bored, and use as example for our kids how NOT to live your life.
