Steelers Fan asked:
Can you name any Famous African-American Celebrities that were AGAINST Obama during his campaigning?
Can you name any Famous African-American Celebrities that were AGAINST Obama during his campaigning?
How many can you name that were FOR him?
Why is one number so marginally huge vs the other?

Charlize Theron…not sure if she was for or against him though.
EDIT:
African American is not a race.
Not all blacks are from Africa.
Not all Africans are black.
Africa is a continent of 53 countries, and almost a billion people comprising people of ALL races.

it may have something to do with his political party, obama almost got as high a percent of black votes as gore did

your avatar is black

Probably because African Americans are much more likely to be Democrats than Republicans, largely because Democrats support programs that benefit poor people (a lot of African Americans are poor), and Republicans try to court the ****** vote.

the smart ones were against and the out of work or failing ones were for him

Many for and not none that I know of against.

Well, since you claim to be a Steelers fan, how about Lynn Swann? He ran for Governor of Pennsylvania in 2006, and won the Republican nomination.
Of course, he got pounded by the incumbent Democrat, Ed Rendell — and that’s got nothing to do with Eagles fans across the State, it’s that he ran as a Republican.
Man, the Penn GOP really, really owes Swannie. They should nominate him to run against Arlen Specter next year. But they won’t. I wonder why? Probably because he’s not a “true conservative.”
Come to think of it, DID Swann campaign against Obama? I don’t recall seeing him onstage with Sarah Palin when she spoke of Pennsylvania as the home of the World Champion Phillies — in Erie, which is closer to Cleveland, Buffalo and even Toronto than it is to Pittsburgh, let alone Philadelphia! I guess Swann is a smart guy… but that probably makes him ineligible for today’s GOP!

Interestinly, Tiger Woods said nothing in support of Obama. The entirety of his comments were in support of the military in which his father served for 20 years.
Such a fact is ignored by the media.

OPRAH FOOOORRRR HIMMMM !!!!
July 28th, 2009 at 15:11
uuuum….
i have to say, i can’t think of any that were against him. because if you take the one’s that did come forward they are called a trader to their race. which is something michael steel and clarence thomas have been called.
for him…all the a.a. celebrities i can think of.

Why does it matter?

Y’know, both African Americans /and/ ‘celebrities’ tend to be disproportionately democrats. You’re talking a rare bird, indeed.

Bob Johnson and others supported Hillary Clinton. Does it matter?
You realize Bill Clinton has very similar numbers among Black voters, right? The Rabid Right try to make it about ethnicity because that’s all they see.

Before any attempt to misconstrue the likely large number of African American (no hyphen) celebs who supported Obama, one must also bear in mind the ratio of African American celebs to White celebs. A comparison between the two groups would better illustrate whether racial identity was a statistically significant factor.

I can’t actually name very many celebrities (and I’m talking about Hollywood celebrities) in general that were against Obama. I only know of a few.
I guess it’s because most celebrities are democrats and most African Americans are democrats so when you combine the two it makes it really hard to find someone who is not for Obama.

ACORN said BB King,Sammy Davis jr and Richard Pryor all VOTED for Obama
August 9th, 2009 at 13:05

basically blacks just don’t want to fess up that they mainly voted for this guy because he is black, well partially black, instead of him being a democrat.
