I never noticed that. But assuming you are correct, it could be that THEY aren’t changing, but perhaps your perceptions of them are.

I think it is the lighting in the studios and photos. For example, If you look at Ghost Dad or I Spy with Bill Cosby, he is very dark but if you look at him on the Cosby Show, he looks lighter. Photographic lights is what I am thinking.

beyonce and rihanna are getting really light . I notice it too but they look better . It depends actually on the color of the outifit, make up,eyes and hair.It also depends on the scene.
